Reviews are up!

My reviews for October are up on the Fallen Angel Reviews site. I'm slowing the reviewing down getting ready for our trip back to Australia for Christmas. There's so much to organize over the next 6 weeks that I won't be able to find as much time to read and review as I'd like. Plus I'm taking on NaNoWriMo again, so I'll be busy writing my own stuff. Let's not talk about the fact that I should be doing that right now. Here are the reviews:-

Daringly Delicious by Leigh Ellwood - Review

Hidden by Karen Erickson - Review

Hot Rodeo Night by Sage Burnett - Review

Hot Shot by MJ Fredrick - Review

Wild Frontier by Sienna Black - Review

Kaitlin's Silver Lining by Ciara Gold - Review

Cattleman's Club: Patton's Way by Jenny Penn - Review

That's it. Catch ya later, I'm off to write.

Checking in.

The Tribe at the Grand Canyon. Don't we look happy? It was chilly and windy and I loved it. I wanna go back!

So, what am I doing? Well, what I'm not doing is the reviews that I have due but don't panic I'll have them in before deadline. It's just that there's been some things going on around here that are taking up a lot of my time.

I've got a health issue I won't bore you with but it's not something that'll go away quickly and needs me to make decisions I'd really like someone else to make. *sigh* Anyway, I've made them and I'll be jumping over that hurdle in the near future.

The Princesses started home schooling. Did I mention before that I hoped this would be the best thing? So far it's the best damn thing I've ever done for them. They're loving it. They're enthusiastic, which has to be a good thing. AND, they're smiling! Oh, and we have to hatch shrimp on the weekend so they can do their biology lesson on Monday. How cool it that?

I'm supposed to be writing, LOL, I am doing some. Just not as much as I'd like. I received and email telling me the editor I was working with for Rhian's submission is leaving the company and my ms was being passed to another editor. What this will mean I'm unsure of but I haven't heard from the new one yet so I've stopped doing what I was doing (requested by original editor) until I hear from the new editor.

I'm doing a beta read/crit for a fellow writer I met on the Romance Divas forum. It's a rom/sus and I gotta say I love it! It's taking me longer than normal because I kept getting lost in the story and forgetting I was supposed to be checking it for plot holes, flow, missing words, etc. But I gotta say, I LOVE IT!!!

Anyway, off to do some stuff.

L to R - Hubby, Princess & the Pea, Me (in back), The Kid (in front), Son#1's girl (in back), Princess One (in front) and Son#1. I think we look rather good for 4:30 in the morning and no sleep.

So while I was away Fallen Angel Reviews loaded last months reviews and I wasn't here to blog them so I'm blogging them now.

Back in two weeks!

Well, I'm off on our family holiday. It's taking us a 7 hr flight and then a 9 hr flight to get to LA but who cares when we'll be touring LA, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and San Francisco! Sooooo.......

Leaving On A Jet Plane - Lyrics by John Denver

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh baby, I hate to go

There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I tell you now, they don't mean a thing
Every place I go, I'll think of you
Every song I sing, I'll sing for you
When I come back, I'll bring your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time let me kiss you
Close your eyes I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times, I won't have to say

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh baby, I hate to go

Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Bye bye!

New Release - 24th Sept '08

Blurb:
Kate is blindsided when her husband cleans out their house and bank account before skipping town with another woman. Desperate to get out of her sister’s apartment, Kate jumps at the chance to help Rick and Wes, DEA agents whose latest case finds them in urgent need of a house-sitter.

Taking care of the old farmhouse is just what she needed. As the months pass, a stronger Kate emerges. She’s also developed an email friendship with Rick, and it isn’t long before they secretly begin starring in each other’s lust-filled fantasies. Problem is, after her failed marriage, Kate wants only a physical relationship. She’s terrified of losing her heart—which is exactly what Rick intends to capture upon his return.

They reach a compromise. One that involves explosive, no-strings sex—for now. Rick patiently deflects her fears and willingly slakes her passion while keeping his darker fantasies in check, afraid of scaring his shy, innocent lover. But unbeknownst to Rick, Kate has a few untapped fantasies of her own.
Remember if you're on my side of the world it might be the 24th but it's still the 23rd at Ellora's Cave. If you want to check out an excerpt go here. Or visit Mari's website to check out all her great books.

Linda has blown me away with all of these books. They can be read out of order but you really need to do them in order. If you like romantic suspense I can't recommend them enough, although Hearts Awakened is classed as a romantic contemporary it's still a must read.

Moving on to other things. We're going on holiday. To the US!!! Yay! On the 27th of September we'll be landing in LA for 13 days of touring LA, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and San Fran. The US will never be the same after the Charlton's have been. LOL
Okay, I'm off to do some work. What? Reading's work! I've got to write reviews for you guys! It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.

New Release!

ADDICTED by Devon Gray releases today, August 1st! I've read it, there are some advantages of being a CP, and it's great! It's available from The Wild Rose Press - The Wilder Roses. Here's a teaser.

Lose Control. Lose Yourself. Get Addicted.

It seemed like a great idea at the time--escaping for a summer with my best friend, leaving behind a job I hated and all my indecisiveness. Three months in a small beach town would clear my head, brighten my outlook on the future, guide me in the right direction.

I had no way of knowing what that summer would bring. The things I would be capable of, the lengths to which I'd end up going , the intensity with which I would yearn. I had no way of knowing about him.

He came into my life like a summer storm--sudden, intense, with a threat of danger; flooding my senses until I was drowning in him. The problem with addiction? You crave what you need…whether it is good for you or not.

You can also check out Devon here. I really can't say enough good things about this book. I love it!

Blast from the past.

Months ago now, and I feel really slack for not getting it up here sooner, I won Karen Erickson's Fortune's Deception, I promised to blog about it when I read it and I never did. Sorry. So now here I am blogging about this great fun read. And why might you ask am I blogging about it now, well, I've been thinking about doing a blog on books I've read for myself on not for FAR for a while and today I learned that Karen has signed the contract for the second book in the wonderful series, Fortune's Promise. Yay!!! Anyway, back to why we're here.

Winning the lottery changes her life forever…in more ways than one
One minute Brittney Jones is living paycheck to paycheck, and the next she and three friends win a record-breaking lottery jackpot. Sure, she’s spent some money on herself—after her rough childhood, she figures she deserves a few indulgences, big and small.
To financial advisor Charlie Manning, his client Brittney is a shallow beauty out to spend all of her money. He thinks she should rein it in. She thinks he should loosen up, and resolves to help him do just that—in a very naughty way.
The passion between them burns hot and fast, and Charlie comes to realize Brittney’s heart is as big as her newly fattened bank account. She’s not only smart, but beautiful and sexy. And he can’t resist her.
Still, Charlie is aware that Brittney’s keeping secrets from him. If only she would trust him enough to tell the truth!
Fortune's Deception is available from Samhain Publishing and is a great book. I'm hanging out now for the second one, it's not out until Jan '09!!!!! Aaaahhhhhhhh...........
